Alan R. Gronroos

Alan R. Gronroos, 83, of East Falmouth, passed away on January 24, 2019. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Vano E. and Ellen (Koivu) Gronroos. Alan worked as an induction generator engineer and was the owner of Best Braze in Pocasset, MA. He enjoyed boating, fishing on Cape Cod Bay, cooking and most of all, spending time with his loving family and friends around his “bumper crop vegetable garden”. He loved cookouts, playing horseshoes and he was a huge Boston Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his children:  Sherry Smith of Stow, ME, Alan “Skip” Gronroos of East Falmouth, Kevin Gronroos of Bridgeport, CT, and Diane LaCorte of East Falmouth; his 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Alan was predeceased by his wife of 22 years, Carol (Whitmarsh) Gronroos, and his son, William Gronroos.

A graveside service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, Feb. 9th at the Vine Lake Cemetery, 625 Main St., Medfield MA.   A memorial celebration service will be announced in the spring.
