Benjamin G. Sisson, 29, of Falmouth, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. To those who knew him, Benn was like a mighty tree. He was a towering pillar of strength whose deep roots were grounded in familial pride.
In youth, Benn played hockey and lacrosse where he learned the value of discipline and self-improvement that became so much a part of his later life. At the Vocational school he studied the art of carpentry. He learned a love of woodworking from his father and enjoyed spending this time with his Dad. He perfected his skills and gave the crafts he made to others, and also for his home.
Benn gave community service through Habitat for Humanity where he created shelter for others which provided places to rest and commune. For many years, Benn was a foreman at a professional tree care company. He was an excellent climber, pruner and log splitter. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and was fun to be around.
Fatherhood transformed him. He nurtured, protected, and loved his children and embraced us in his mighty limbs. Benn was the happiest and strongest that he had ever been. Some say he had a fearless passion for life.
Certainly, those who knew him, knew that he was chivalrous. His great efforts were only just beginning to bear fruit when a blight that affects our entire community took him without warning.
He is survived by his parents, Jeannine (Jeanie) G. Sisson and John (Jay) D. Sisson Jr., his children Jay Benjamin Sisson and Lucy Marie Sisson, his sister, Katherine (Katie) E. Sisson, his paternal grandfather John D. Sisson Sr., loving family members, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Visiting hours will be held from 1-4pm on Sunday, April 7th at the Chapman Cole Gleason, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Route 28A), WEST FALMOUTH.
