Christopher J. Barros

Christopher J. Barros, beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, age 50, passed away of respiratory failure on February 5, 2019.  Chris was the son of Eleanor (Lascari) of Bourne and James Barros of Nantucket.  Chris was born in Manhasset, New York, on Easter Sunday, April 14, 1968 at 12 noon.  It's believed that date and time have special meaning because Chris has always had a special connection to Heaven.  Chris lived his life in Falmouth, Nantucket, and Mashpee.  He graduated from Falmouth High School, after which he went to work and learned the drywall and plastering trade from his father.  He had his own plastering company for many years and was praised as a Master of his trade.

Chris had two first loves: his family and his beloved Min Pin, Libby, who was his constant companion.  He was an avid golfer, loved riding his motorcycle, sailing around Waquoit Bay on his boat, and dogs...all dogs, and they loved him.  His heart was as big as the universe and his kindness and wonderful sense of humor made the world a better place. He had many, many friends. Chris will be missed beyond measure.

Chris is survived by his mother and father; sister Theresa; brothers Ted and Brandon; nieces Brittany, Olivia, and Isabella; nephew Scott; great niece, Scarlet; and his cousins, David and Becky Alexander and their children, Jack and Nicholas of Bellingham, MA ; Jonah O'Brien of Aromas, CA; and Kerry O'Brien of Medford, MA.

A visitation will take place from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Route 28A), WEST FALMOUTH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton, 481 Quaker Rd, North Falmouth, on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
