What a joy it has been to arrive in Vineyard Haven, drive to Greenwood House and be greeted by Kathy and Larry/ Kathy's spirit and love for life crackled like a crisp springtime dawn. She was passionate about Larry, her mom, family and friends. She loved the Vineyard and enthusiastically shared its' secrets with Sue and I. Watching her read to the little children at the Vineyard Haven Library was a heartwarming experience. She, dressed in an animal costume dramatically read to her rapt audience. We felt privileged that she had invited us. Kathy and Larry lovingly cared for Helen for years, and we could see where Kathy inherited her kind nature. We have such wonderful memories of Kathy; enjoying the apple fritters at the Back Door, dinners in their kitchen, attending a fundraiser for Hilary Clinton, and having her guide us around the Island. We will never forget. Love, Mike and Sue Wolk

Oh Larry we are so sorry for your loss. Kathy spoke lovingly of you. She taught me a lot about doing Story Times for children. We had a lot of fun when we went off island to classes & meetings; on the ferry, she would tell great stories of her world travels. Then we would go shopping! I will think of Kathy whenever I see a baby elephant or Montauk Daisy. Love, Irene Larry, my condolences. I know it must have been a taxing time for the both of you. Given that, Kathy sending me some meditation CDs last fall will always touch me. Best wishes, Matt

Recently I realized why I had lost interest in going to Tai Chi each morning. It's because when Kathy could no longer come, I missed her cheery "Good morning" and following her movements and pace which is how I learned the Tai Chi patterns. I could not match, however, her rhythm and grace.

Kathy, you were my friend. You showed me your "sanctuary of solitude", and shared secrets of girlfriends. Thank you Larry, for allowing me in your lives, and for sharing Kathy, for making me a special part of your "kitchen times". Thank you for taking me to Holt street. I am forever grateful. Kathy made me feel better than I ever was. My heart breaks for those special times on the Vineyard. Larry, I have no words of comfort, your guys were my comfort of friendship. IN MY LIFE, I have had no friends better. Life will not be the same without the Queen of GW. How could it be? Thank you Larry for stopping time, and for allowing me in your lives. I will never forget. Rita, she talked about you a lot, her best friend from Cali... I will miss you the rest of my life Kathy. 1971-WJ 1994-GW xoxo-dory
