Yarmouthport-Ellen Jane vonHone Maranda

December 26, 2018 – It was of the utmost importance to Ellen that she live past Christmas so she would not muddy it's importance her family and the faith that she held dear. God took her home in the clear starry evening of December 26th with her family in attendance after a long valiant battle with cancer.

Ellen was born to Eliza Jane and David T. Clark of West Springfield, Massachusetts on April 18th, 1945. She attended school in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School in the Spring of 1963. She then attended Bridgeport University in Connecticut earning her degree in Dental Hygiene.

She worked for several years in Colorado, and during the summer of 1983 moved her family back to New England and ultimately to Cape Cod. She is best known as one of the great hygenists working for Weiler, Walkley and Associates in Harwich these past 30 years. She was also an enduring member of the Elaine Chase Dancers of Orleans for a nearly equal amount of time. She loved her family, tending her garden, and hoping for that giant snow storm that makes everything feel cozy.

Ellen is preceded by her husbands John (1983) and Bruce (2018). She leaves her grandchildren Joseph and Lauren, her children Heather, Amber and Matthew and her stepchildren Hathaway and Kenseth. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn and her family in West Springfield, MA.

A Funeral Mass for Ellen will be this Saturday, January 5th at 10:00am at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave.,  South Yarmouth, MA. Burial will be private at a later date.
