Estelle Jean Ryan

Estelle J. Ryan, 85, of Falmouth, MA, loving mother of two died July 24, 2019. Estelle Jean DeRosier was born in Norwich, CT on Oct. 18, 1933 to Arthur H. and Rose A. DeRosier. 

Estelle graduated from Norwich Free Academy, went on to earn a secretarial certificate and married Raymond J. Ryan, Sr.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Sears, Kenneth Crosby Company and TRW. While raising her two children in Framingham, she enjoyed water and snow skiing, camping, dancing and volunteering at church. Her passion for the ocean, bird watching and Cape Symphony led her to Falmouth where she spent her last years with partner, Joseph Pietrowski (d.2015).

Her parents, along with siblings Arthur, Rose (Alfieri) and Donald preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter Cynthia L. Luna and husband Cruz, son Raymond J. Ryan, Jr. and wife Kelisha, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service in Estelle’s honor will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Falmouth at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019  followed by a celebration of her loving heart and zest for life at Flying Bridge Restaurant on Falmouth Harbor. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Mass Audubon or MSPCA.
