Grace B. Cosgrove, age 93, of East Bridgewater died peacefully on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.

Grace grew up in Boston, daughter of the late John and Mary (Kelley) Barry and she was the last living sibling of nine, and was a graduate of Girls High, Class of 1943. She married Thomas Cosgrove on October 16, 1949 and the two raised their family in East Bridgewater. She was a devoted homemaker and also owner and manager of a small collectible store in Whitman, Kelly’s Kard Korner. Grace’s husband Tom passed away very young during the mid seventies however she still maintained the union within her family. Family being very important to her, she always hosted Christmas’s, Thanksgivings, birthdays, and Sunday Dinners.

She needed to be busy and she liked having interactions with people. After Tom died, she started working for the State of Massachusetts Welfare Department located in South Boston. She worked for over 20 years, “retiring” at age 76, however she “unretired” at age 80 and worked part-time till age 87. She was an independent loving, faithful, and caring person who enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling, but most importantly her family.

She was the loving wife of the late Thomas J. Cosgrove and devoted mother of Ann M. Cosgrove-Wile of East Bridgewater, Barbara Cosgrove-Davis and her husband Earl of Bridgewater, Joan Anderson and her husband James of East Bridgewater, Patrick (PJ) Cosgrove and his wife Loralee of East Bridgewater, daughter in law Patricia Cosgrove of Wareham and her late sons Tommy and Mark B.
