Jacqueline Rixon

Jacqueline (Howe) Rixon, 85, a long-time resident of Attleboro, MA and St. Petersburg, FL, was surrounded by family when she passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Harbor Point Assisted Living in Centerville, MA. Born in St Albans, Vermont on April 26, 1933, Jackie was daughter of the late Leonard and Emma (Sheehan) Howe and wife of the late Paul A. Rixon. She graduated in 1951 from St Mary’s High School in Saint Albans Vermont and married Paul, her childhood sweetheart, in August 1954.  Jackie cherished her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and will be lovingly remembered.

Both Paul and Jackie were active in their community through work, their children’s schools and sports and enjoyed participating in various neighborhood celebrations.  Upon moving to Isla Key, St Petersburg, FL, Jackie loved all of what retirement offered: new friends, travel, family visits and beautiful views. Jackie was an avid reader, loved to play golf and enjoyed sunset parties overlooking Boca Ciega Bay.

She is survived by one sibling, Sister Sally Ann Howe, CSC. of Manchester, NH, and three sons: Jeffrey and his wife Mary Jane of Centerville, MA., David of Foxboro, MA and Jay of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Jackie was the beloved Grandmother of Todd Rixon and his wife Kelli of Westwood, MA, Katie Rixon of Portland, Oregon and Emma Rixon of Centerville, MA. She also leaves two great grandchildren, Leighton and Elisabeth Rixon of Westwood, MA. Jackie was a member of St. John’s Church during her residence in Attleboro and Blessed Trinity Church in St. Petersburg. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring of 2019 in St. Albans, VT.
