Joel Conrad

Joel Conrad, also known as Joseph Conrad Herron, passed away on December 27, 2018. He is survived by his husband of 39 years, Joseph R. Pace of Yarmouth Port and his dog, Tripp

Born in Athens, Ohio, and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Joel was a summa cum laude graduate of Colby Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.

In 2003 he retired, moving to Cape Cod where he taught yoga, qigong and tai chi at studios, fitness facilities, wellness retreats, senior and community centers.

He was a Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Acu-Yoga Teacher, both a Certified Qigong and Tai Chi instructor, member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, American Mediation Institute, Center for Spiritual Awareness and the International Campaign for Tibet. He was a long-time member of the Metropolitan Opera Guild.

Mr. Conrad worked in virtually every phase of professional theatre as a director, choreographer, dancer, singer and actor. As director and choreographer, his productions were seen in New York City, Boston, New Hampshire and Vermont.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marietta and Clyde Herron.

A memorial gathering will be planned for the Spring.
