Joseph E. Lauzon, 80, of Centerville, passed away peacefully at home on January 8th with his family and his dog by his side.
Born and raised in Brockton, Joe proudly served in the Air Force until being honorably discharged. He met the love of his life, Deanna, and started a family. Joe was a master carpenter, a skill which he learned from his father and passed on to his own children. After retirement he continued to proudly utilize his trade by making furniture and anything else made of wood.
Whether tossing horseshoes, striking out in the 10th frame or driving a runner home during one of the many softball games played at family functions, Joe had a love of sports. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed playing cards, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Ruth (Thrasher), Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Deanna E. (Willis) and their six children; Joseph E. Lauzon, Jr. of Hyannis, Bryan E. Lauzon and his wife Cindy of Carver, Robert A. Lauzon and his wife Linda of Marstons Mills, Jeffrey L. Lauzon and his wife Becki of Sandwich, Mary A. Cavalcante and her husband Ricardo of Hyannis, and Andrew D. Lauzon and his wife Roseanne of Lincoln, Delaware. Joe is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held Tuesday, January 15th from 4 to 7 PM at John Lawrence Funeral Home, Rte 28, Marstons Mills. The burial will be the following day, Wednesday, January 16th at 10:30 AM at the Bourne National Cemetery, gathering at funeral home at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
