Joshua F. Marques

Joshua F Marques, 37, of Falmouth, passed away on January 11, 2019. He was born May 22, 1981 at Falmouth Hospital, the son of Roberta and Michael Cabral of Falmouth. He attended Falmouth schools and went to study culinary at Upper Cape Tech. He was a long-time chef at Betsy’s Diner in Falmouth until he found his passion for fishing where he started his career as a commercial fisherman. You could often find him early mornings fishing on the Cape Cod Canal. He was an avid member of the fishing community with a lot of the local fishing markets.  He was well known for his sense of humor with the smirk of a smile that followed. He was the kind of man you could always depend on and would have given the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was truly one of kind and will be missed immensely by all he encountered.

He is survived by his parents, Roberta and Michael of Falmouth; his sons Trevor and Shane Marques; his siblings, Russell, Megan, and Morgan of Falmouth. His nieces Savannah, Callie and nephew Lucas. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Barbara and Gilbert Silvia of Falmouth along with many aunts and uncles. Along with his family he will be survived by his significant other Emily Bird of Falmouth.

Visiting hours will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, Jan. 17th at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Jan. 18th at St. Patrick Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth. Burial to follow in the St. Anthony Cemetery in East Falmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joshua Marques Children Fund at Citizens Banks.
