Maureen Murphy Catania

Maureen Murphy Catania, 63 of Marstons Mills, MA, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2017, after a valiant year of fighting cancer.

Maureen was born on April 3, 1953 in Brighton, MA to the late Walter and Kathleen (White) Murphy. She graduated from Lawrence High School before receiving her BS in Computer Programming from North Adams State and Cape Cod Community College. Maureen worked in computer programming before dedicating her life to raising her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and selflessly put the needs of others ahead of her own.

Maureen leaves behind her loving husband of 34 years, William Catania and her children Amanda, Jason and Arielle and was greatly looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild this spring. Maureen is survived by her siblings, Kathleen Markie, Virginia Weinberg, Walter Murphy, Joanne Schoeffel, Stephen Murphy, Anne-Marie Susalla and Patricia Parker. She also leaves several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition she will be greatly missed by countless friends and family whose lives she's touched.

A wake will be held on Friday, February 17th from 2-5pm at John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills, with a short reading at 4:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cape Cod Shrine Club, C/O Aleppo Shriners, 99 Fordham Road, Wilmington, MA  01887.
