Roberta S. Dodge, 85, of Bridgewater died on January 3, 2019 at Life Care Center of Raynham.  She was born in Paterson, New Jersey, Daughter of the late Martha (Beck) and Robert F. Higgins.  Roberta graduated from North Quincy High School and went on to Bridgewater State and received her Master’s in Special Education.  She was a school teacher at Bridgewater-Raynham for many years prior to her retirement.

Roberta was the loving wife of the late Ralph S. Dodge for 60 years.  She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Bridgewater Garden Club.  She was active in town politics as a member of the Republican Town Committee and volunteering during elections.

Roberta is survived by her children, Robin S. Murray, Holly M. Dodge, Laurel A. Dodge and Heather J. Dodge.  She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Taylor M. Murray and Matthew W. Murray.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4- 8 PM at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory made payable to the Bridgewater Garden Club, Attn: Scholarship Program, C/O Sharon Graves, 473 West St., East Bridgewater, MA 02333.
