Alan J. McNeil

Alan J. McNeil, 74, of Wareham, died January 7, 2020 in the V.A. Boston Heathcare System, Brockton. He was the husband of Maureen A. (Fall) McNeil and the son of the late John S. and Muriel (Overton) McNeil.

He was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for 30 years.  He was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Mr. McNeil worked as an electrician at the Brockton Veteran’s Hospital for many years before retiring.

He was a talented artist and enjoyed oil painting. He was a “Jack of all trades” and he liked trivia and science.

Survivors include his wife, Maureen A. (Fall) McNeil of Wareham; his daughter, Kimberley McNeil of Wareham; a brother, Dan McNeil of Weymouth; a sister, Margaret Ridge of Hartford, ME. He was the brother of the late John, Steve and Frank McNeil and Jeannette McNeil.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
