Alberta E. Steen

Alberta E. Steen, 72, of Carver, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a long illness.  She was the wife of Charles R. Steen, they had been married for 52 years.

Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Cronin) Beaudion.  Mrs. Steen was a certified nursing assistant for many years at several area nursing homes and Tobey Hospital in Wareham.

She lived in Wareham for 25 years, she then moved to Carver where she lived for 18 years.  For the past two years, she has been a resident at Tremont Rehabilitation Center in Wareham.

Survivors include her husband; her children, Charles R. “Chip” Steen, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Seekonk, Cheryl Walsh and her husband Christopher of Bridgewater, Cynthia Kilroe and her husband James of Wareham and Claire Steen of Wareham.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham from 3 to 4 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 4 PM.

Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. of Mass., 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
