Allan F. Hadfield

1941 ∼ 2018

Osterville- Allan F. Hadfield, 77 of Osterville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 1, 2018. 

Born January 2, 1941 to Allan and Sarah Hadfield (Padelford) of Fairhaven MA.  He attended Bristol Agricultural School for horticulture.  Allan was a volunteer fire fighter for the Marstons Mills Fire Department for many years.  He took pride in his work and took meticulous care of the estates that he worked on. 

Allan was predeceased by his wife Elaine A. Hadfield (Martin).  He is survived by his children Leslie E. Perry (Hadfield) of Cotuit and Stacy A. Hadfield of West Yarmouth; his granddaughter Alexis E. Perry; his longtime companion Kathleen D. Hoyt of Marstons Mills; his dear friends Andrea and Rudiger Sura of Osterville and Germany, Ingeborg Schultze of Germany, Hartwig and Anne Zakin of New York, and Christopher Zakin of Utah. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Collins for his extraordinary and loving care throughout his illness.     

He enjoyed fishing, car shows, bird watching, meeting his friends for breakfast each morning, and spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4-7 at John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 9 at 11:00 at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Osterville.  Burial will follow at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Ingeborg Foundation, 639 Seaview Ave. Osterville, MA 02655.
