Alma A. Acton December 31, 1923- April 29, 2020

Harwich - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Alma A. Acton on April 29, 2020. 

Alma, 96, of Harwich was born in Framingham and grew up in Hopkinton. She was the daughter of Joseph P. Tedeschi & Adele T. (Zambelli) Tedeschi and the beloved wife of Edward F. Acton Sr.

Alma worked at Telechron Clock Company after graduating from Hopkinton High School until she got married. She became a crossing guard for the Framingham police department until they moved to Cape Cod in 1965. They settled in Centerville and she worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson’s and later at East Bay Lodge where she became a favorite their patrons.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her step-mother Lina Tedeschi, her twin sister Helen Haven and her step-sister Josephine Rio. Alma is survived by her children Tim Acton (Sharon), Martha Field (Phillip) and Ed Acton (Cheryl), her grandchildren Jennifer Field, Amanda Ferrill (Mike), Erin Bose (Ron), Kate Acton, Devin Acton and Madison Acton, great grandchildren Skylar and Ryann Ferrill and Tyler Bose as well as many nieces and nephews.

She loved watching golf, playing cards with her family and caring for her cat Honeybee.  Alma was an example to everyone of a life well lived.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and interment will take place privately at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Ed.
