NORTH FALMOUTH-- Americo Vieira, 88, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2017.

Americo was born in Providence, RI a son of the late Manuel and Lucy Vieira. He honorably and valiantly served his country in the United States Army. Americo was a true gentleman and loving father. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and a member of their Men’s Club and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Louise Vieira; children, Louisette (Paul) Tompkins, and Jacques (Patricia) Vieira; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Jessica, Whitney, Robynne; 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Vieira.

Viewing hours will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 Route 28A, WEST FALMOUTH from 10:30 until 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, 481 Quaker Road, North Falmouth. Interment to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
