Anna May Silva

Anna May Silva 93, of Rochester Mass, formerly of West Bridgewater and Cape Cod, passed into eternal life on March 23rd 2019 in the comfort of her home with loving family present.  Anna was born in Brockton on July 14, 1925, daughter of the late Quintino Perry & Mary Perry. She graduated from West Bridgewater High School and then went on to marry Vincent Silva Sr. in 1948. They built their home in West Bridgewater and raised 5 children. They retired to Cape Cod and eventually moved to an in-law apartment to be near their daughter Lisa and husband Jim where she lived the last 15 years.

Anna lived a full long and blessed life. She took her rosary to bed at night and prayed over her family. She was an avid reader, a fantastic baker, a cook of authentic Portuguese food and a genuine wiz at crosswords. Her memory was excellent and her children often relied on her to an accurate storytelling. She was the #1 Red Sox fan. She watched every game and often cut a phone call short so she could pay attention to every play. She also enjoyed Patriot’s football, hockey and basketball.

She mostly enjoyed family visits and good conversation over the latest current event. She was a good listener and a trusted friend. Oh, how she will be missed by all of us.

Anna was predeceased by her husband Vincent Silva Sr. and sadly, her son Vincent Silva Jr. Also predeceased by her brothers, Quint, Frank and Arthur. She lovingly leaves behind her oldest son Mike and wife Elaine of Berkeley, Ma.  Her daughter Lynne of West Palm, Fl. Her son Jeffrey and Brenda of Middleboro, Ma. Her youngest child and daughter Lisa and husband James of Rochester Ma.  She leaves behind 13 awesome grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bidgewater Friday March 29th at 11:00am.
