Anne M (Anderson) Emerson of Falmouth MA and Naples Florida, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was 68.
She was the beloved wife of Richard T. Emerson of 38 years, and a loving mother to her two daughters, Julie and Lindsey. Anne was born in Boston, and was the oldest of 6 children. She was a teacher for 35 years in the Quincy Public Schools, who loved traveling, playing cards, reading, Mah Jongg, and spending time with her many friends and family. After retiring in 2006, Anne was fortunate to split her time between Naples, FL and Falmouth, where she was extremely active in social events. She was past President of the Falmouth Newcomers/Encore Group, in addition to serving as Chairperson of the Social Committee at Foxfire Country Club in Naples. Despite fighting advanced lung disease, she made it a point to still enjoy time with her family and friends, and participate in many social activities.
Besides her husband Richard, Anne is survived by her daughters, Julie and Lindsey Emerson; her sisters, Kate and Terri Anderson; her brothers, Jim, Marty and Chris Anderson, and many loved family members and friends.
Visiting hours will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11th in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, FALMOUTH CENTER. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 12th in the Saint Barnabas Church, 91 Main Street, Falmouth, MA. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Jones Road, Falmouth, MA.
