Anne S. Melanson

Anne S. (Pinola) Melanson, 78, of East Falmouth, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at home, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 . She was the beloved wife of the late Edward C. Melanson who predeceased her on January 1st of this year. She was born in Boston to the late Edwin E. and Mary M. (Melanson) Pinola.

Anne worked at Ocean Spray in the 1960s and 1970s, then at LTX until her retirement. She then retired to Florida for 12 years. She was an avid reader and loved going out to eat and spending time with her family most. She will also be remembered for her sense of humor.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Donna Morash and her husband, Charles of East Falmouth, and their children, Marissa and Adam; her son Brian Smith and his wife Diane of Plymouth, and their children, Daniel and Rachel; her stepchildren:  Karen Mitchell and her sons, Scott and Richard of Hopedale and Bruce Melanson and is wife Debbie, and their children, Steven, Joey and Michelle of NY. She also leaves her siblings:  Edwin (Bud) Pinola of Braintree, William (Bill) Pinola of Texas, Norman Pinola of Alabama, Marilyn Davis of Weymouth, Marion Piccuito of Weymouth, and her cousin, Ann Marie Melanson. She was predeceased by her brothers, Richard Pinola of Texas and Gordon Pinola of Brockton.

Visiting hours will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17 and from 9:00-10:15 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18 at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18 at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 E. Falmouth Hwy (Route 28), East Falmouth. Interment will follow the Mass at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to:  Glastonbury Abbey, 16 Hull Street, Hingham MA  02043.
