Ariana  (Austin) “Bunny” Fairbanks

Ariana (Austin) “Bunny” Fairbanks, 85, of Woods Hole, formerly of Honolulu, HI, died at home surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Hawaii. She graduated from Punahou School, class of 1951 and then Oregon State University.  She lived most of her life between Honolulu and Woods Hole. She was wife of the late Daniel J. Fairbanks, Jr. who predeceased her in 1970 and from that point was dedicated to raising her only son, Daniel.

She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, politics, and travel. She was involved with many charities including Heritage Museum and Gardens, Historic Highfield Hall, Neighborhood Falmouth, WHOI, MBL, Falmouth Hospital, and the American Heart Assoc.

She is survived by her son, Daniel John Fairbanks, III and his wife Ashley, her two grandchildren and a brother, James “Kimo” Austin.

A memorial service will be held later this summer in Woods Hole.
