Arthur V. Morley, 81, of Mashpee, passed away peacefully at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich on February 9, 2017, after a prolonged illness.

Arthur grew up in Watertown, moving there with his two younger brothers and father to live with their Aunt Agnes, after the death of their mother.  He graduated from Watertown High School, enlisted in the U.S. Army for 3 years, earned his B.S. from Boston University, and attended Suffolk Law School.  Arthur was the youngest member of the Watertown Housing Authority who built the original Elderly Housing Complex.

Moving to Cape Cod and building a new home in 1973 was a dream he wanted to fulfill because of his love for golf.  He was a longtime member (1973) of New Seabury Golf Club.

For most of his career he worked in the computer industry, including working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in various positions.  Two of those positions include Project Director, Legislative Post Audit & Oversight Bureau, and Assistant Chief, Bureau of Analysis & Processing, Department of Corporations & Taxation.

He finished his career in various executive positions at Micro Networks, a division of Unitrode Corporation.

Whether he commuted to Boston, Worcester or Europe, he always loved coming home to Cape Cod, his family, golf, and for the last 4 ½ years, to his dog “Scarlett.”
