Barbara L. Sullivan

Barbara L. Sullivan, 88, of Sandwich, formerly of Centerville, passed away on March 10, 2019.  She was the beloved wife of Paul R. Sullivan to whom she was married 56 years.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward and Esther Clark. She grew up in the Ashmont section of Dorchester and attended Saint Gregory’s School in Dorchester and Business School in Boston.

She worked for the Town of Barnstable in the Health Department for many years.

Barbara was an amazing wife and mother.  She took special enjoyment and pride in her grandchildren.  Barbara loved spending time with her family and hosting Sunday family dinners.  Barbara also enjoyed summer days at the beach, bowling and she especially enjoyed adventures with her identical twin sister Beverlee.

In addition to her husband Paul, Barbara is survived by her children Mary C. Sullivan of Boston, Nancy Gatanti (Mark) of Ventura, CA, Beverlee Aylmer (Peter) of Falmouth and Paul Sullivan of Centerville,  three grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Aylmer of Falmouth, and Abigail Sullivan of Centerville, and her sister Lorraine Coakley and her twin sister Beverlee Clark.  Barbara also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her sisters Claire Ames, Shirley Carney and Mary Corbett Cavanaugh.

The family would like to thank The Decatur House in Sandwich for their exceptional care of Barbara.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 14, 2019 at 11:30 in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 So. Main Street, Centerville.  Burial will follow in the VA National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 pm.
