Barbara S. Dunphy

Barbara S. Dunphy, 71, of Carver, died Friday, July 13, 2018 at her home.  She was the wife of James P. Dunphy.

Born in Bad Wildbad, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hermann and Lucy (Sauer) Leopold.  She came to the United States in 1953 and graduated from Roslindale High School.  She was a previous resident of Sagamore Beach and Middleboro before moving to Carver in 2013.

Mrs. Dunphy worked as a dispatcher for Verizon for many years and retired from the Taunton office.

She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, James P. Dunphy of Carver; her daughter Susan Arnold of Wareham; her son, Michael Harrison of Newport News, VA; her step-children, Kimberly Colletti and Sharon Webb both of Derry, NH, and James Dunphy of Halifax; 12 grandchildren, Brittany, Hannah, Kiley, Jacob, Alex, Madison, McKenzie, Riley, Nathan, Aiden, Lucy, and Mia; her brother, Richard Leopold of The Villages, FL.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her brother, the late Gary Leopold and her sister, the late Christa Leopold.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10 AM to 2 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 2 PM.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive Suite 101, Natick, MA 01760.
