BENTO CORREIA

EASTHAM- Ben, 89, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2018 after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Natalie Correia and is survived by his daughters, Nancy Correia of Eastham and Cynthia Mclver of Plymouth, his daughter’s partner, Joy Roderick, his son-in-law, Peter Mclver, his grandchildren Christopher Mclver of Echo Canyon, Colorado, Jonathan and Jessica Mclver of Hingham, MA, Kimberly Mclver of Somerville , MA , David Mclver of Boston, MA and his great grandchildren, Olivia Mclver, Brayden Mclver, Haylee Perry and Mya Perry. Other survivors include his sister, EleanorAbreau of Taunton MA and numerous nieces and nephews.   

Ben was a Korean War Veteran.  His career included 35 years with Finast Stores in a managerial and supervisory capacity and an additional 22 years for Tedeschi’s food stores. He was a founding member of the Falmouth Council of the Knights of Columbus from 1957 to the present and served as a Grand Knight. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed trips to casinos in the area. An avid sports enthusiast he was once written up in the Taunton Gazette for pitching a “no hitter” during his younger baseball days.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 21st with a visiting hour in the church beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville.
