Bettejane “BJ” Manoog

Bettejane “BJ” Manoog (Bockoven), 83, of Worcester and North Falmouth, passed away suddenly on February 1, 2019 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband Russell E. Manoog and her sister Ann Howard. She leaves daughter Sarah Manoog and son-in-law Jay Borkland of Swampscott, and son Charles Manoog and wife Moira Moynihan-Manoog of Worcester, as well as grandchildren, Charles Frederick Manoog, Alexander Gustave Borkland and Amelia Rim Borkland, along with brother David Bockoven of Plano, Texas, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
She was a graduate of the Bancroft School and Leslie University and taught fifth grade in the Worcester area until she had children. She was an active member of the Junior League of Worcester, the Worcester Club, as well as Administrative Director of the American Sanitary Plumbing Museum in the 1980s and 90s, and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She and Russell relocated to their summer home in North Falmouth in 2009 and she eventually became an active volunteer at the adult day health program at JML in Falmouth. She enjoyed her family, international travel and her garden as well as watching tennis, spending time with her many friends, and in recent years, annual visits to St. John, USVI.
A private celebration of her life will be held and the family requests no flowers.
