Capt. Gregory D. Clements

Falmouth - After 31 years of service, Captain Gregory D. Clements (54) of the Falmouth Fire Department, died Sunday July 30, 2017 from complications from a medical incident suffered in the line of duty in late December of 2016.

Capt. Clements grew up in West Falmouth and son of the late W. Robert Clements, MD and Jean (Murrill) Clements. He was a graduate of Falmouth High School and began his career as a call firefighter at Station 4 West Falmouth before becoming a permanent firefighter for the Town of Falmouth in 1986.  As an avid boater and member of the FFRD Dive Team he served as a qualified marine operator for the department, training other members on how to run the agency’s vessels. In 2011 he was promoted to his current rank as Captain of the Falmouth Fire Department.

Capt. Clements is survived by his sister, Pamela Clements of Arlington, his brother firefighter W. Robert Clements, Jr. and his wife Sue of Falmouth, his nieces and nephews: Angela Clements and her daughter Angelina of Fairhaven, Michael Clements of Seattle WA, and Jarred and Melanie Clements of W. Falmouth. He was predeceased by his brother Ronald W. Clements.

Visiting hours will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday Aug 5 at the Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth, followed by a funeral home service at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery on Gifford Street in Falmouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Greg’s memory to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, PO Drawer 498, Emmitsburg MD  21727 (
