Carl G. Bradbury

Carl Gardner Bradbury, age 88 of Cotuit, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Falmouth Hospital following illness. 

Carl was born March 30, 1931 in Cambridge, MA to the late Alan and Flora Bradbury.  He served in the United States Coast Guard and served his military career stationed in Sault Ste. Marie  Michigan, Marquette Michigan, Hawaii and many search and rescue ship assignments. He was a dedicated military veteran serving 20 years and held the rank of Chief Petty Officer.

After retiring from the United States Coast Guard in 1968, Carl had the opportunity to become the Superintendent of building and grounds for the Dover Sherborn MA Town school system of which he was employed for 18 years.

Carl is survived by his wife Willa Bradbury of 67 years of Cotuit MA; his children Daniel, Flora, Dale and Craig Bradbury; his sister, Yvonne Hanna of Venice FL; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Carl was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Osterville MA as well as the Men’s Club of Osterville.  He had a passion for spending time with family and friends, and his kindness and laughter will be missed by many.

Visiting Hours will be held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Thursday October 31, 2019 with a funeral service to begin at 11:30 am both at the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth RD., Marstons Mills MA.

Burial will be 1:45 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2019 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
