Carolyn R. Luther, age 76, of East Bridgewater, died on June 3, 2019. Carolyn grew up in East Bridgewater, where she attended school and played softball, daughter of the late Miriam P. (Bumpus) and Robert H. Allen. She met her husband, the late Herbert A. Luther, through mutual friends and the two raised their children in East Bridgewater.

Carolyn worked for the Foxboro Company and for over 20 years and Shaw’s Corporate office for 15 years. She enjoyed walking, reading and vacationing with her sister and brother-in-law. Before her husband’s death, she would go camping all throughout New England with her family. Carolyn would often visit her cousin Joyce at Craigsville Beach and go to concerts at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. She was a good friend and a great mother and grandmother.

Carolyn was the loving wife of the late Herbert A. Luther. Devoted mother to Stephen M. Luther of East Bridgewater; Scott A. Luther and his wife Caitlin of Bridgewater; and Sandra J. Luther of East Bridgewater. Grammie to Brielle, Blake, Colby and Jessica. Sister of Barbara Malewicz and her husband Wesley of Chelmsford, Sister-in-law to Virginia L. Luther of East Bridgewater. Carolyn is also survived by two nieces and many cousins.

All are cordially invited to the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Sunday June 9th for a visitation period from 1-4pm. A funeral service will begin at 4pm. Burial Monday June 10th at 10:00am at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Please meet at the graveside at 9:45am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice.
