Cecil Costa

Cecil Costa, 78, of East Falmouth died on August 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Giselia (Pires) Costa for 50 years. Born in Falmouth he was the son of the late Martin and Mary (Ventura) Costa.

Cecil served in the U.S. Army reserves for over 17 years. He worked for the Falmouth School Department for over 25 years.  He enjoyed playing golf and traveling to the Azores. He loved his community where he spent his entire life and was known as the “Mayor” of Teaticket. Cecil’s most precious moments were the memories of spending time with his children and grandchildren. There was never a dull moment in his presence and if you were lucky enough to spend a moment with our father you fell in love with him. He will be terribly missed by all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Scott Costa of Teaticket, Alan Costa and his wife Joyce, of Mashpee, C.C. Costa of Teaticket, Andrew Costa of E. Falmouth; and his adored ten grandchildren, Madison, Samuel, Peyton, Brooke, Sydney, Ethan, Mia, Aubrey, Liam and Brody. He is also survived by his siblings: Matthew Costa of E. Falmouth; Janet Teixeira of FL; and Betty Blevins of TN. He was predeceased by his brother Gilbert Costa.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, Sept 6, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 475 Main Street Falmouth.
