Charles A. Cardoza

Charles A. "Charlie" Cardoza, 91, of West Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019. He was the son of late Manuel Cardoza and Joanna Pena Cardoza. He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie Cardoza, sons, Shane B Cardoza and Jerome Gomes and brothers, Manuel Jr., Adilino, Pio and James Cardoza.

He is survived by loving family including his daughter, Sharlene G Cardoza, grandchildren Alyssa and Joshua Shane, great grandchildren, Julius, Noah and Ava, and sisters Jenny Pena and Leah Perry. He is also survived by his loving and devoted companion of 32 years Barbara W Scialdone and bonus family, Shari Perry Wallace, Robin Perry, George Perry, David Perry, grandchildren, Sheriece, Jessica, Nicole, Mercedes, Aiden, David Jr., Darcy, Tristan, Angela, Savannah and great grandchild, Shyla as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Charlie served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as an Operating Engineer for over 30 years and was an active member of IUOE Local 4 union until retirement. He also worked many jobs over the years including as special police officer for the Falmouth Police Department during many summers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working around his home on his yard and vegetable garden as well as rebuilding his classic Chevy Ranchero.

Visiting hours will be held from 1-4pm on Sunday, May 5th and from 10-11:30am on Monday, May 6th, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Route 28A), in WEST FALMOUTH. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Monday, May 6th at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Hwy (Route 28), East Falmouth. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
