Charles R. Fraser

Charles "Chuck" Fraser died April 4, 2018 at the Cape Winds Rest Home in Hyannis surrounded by his loving family and a wonderful staff, especially Supervisor Shirley Miller and her daughter, Courtney.

Chuck was born on January 16, 1931 to parents Dean Henry and Virgie Ann Fraser. He grew up in Trenton, NJ and moved to North Falmouth, MA in 1948 where his parents opened what was then the Fraser Nursing Home of Falmouth. After graduating from Falmouth High School, Chuck attended Coburn Classical Academy in Waterville, ME and then entered Colby College. At the end of two years he joined the US Army where he served as a second lieutenant until his discharge in 1955. After his military service, he returned to Colby College where he was a member of the ATO Fraternity and met his future wife, Joyce Frazier.       

After graduating from college in 1957, Chuck first worked for Federal Products and then Kimberly Clark as a salesman. In 1961 he returned to Cape Cod with his young family to join the family business with his brother Caleb.      

Chuck is survived by his wife Joyce (Frazier) Fraser.   He fathered four wonderful children and leaves his son Dean and wife Roberta, daughter Donna Murray and husband Michael, sons Gregg and wife Colleen and Barry and wife Catherine. He and Joyce are blessed with seven grandchildren, Caitlin Jones and husband Wesley, Robyn Murray, Alyssa Fraser and partner George Lloyd, Jillian and Jenna Fraser, Braden and Keelin Fraser, and two great grandchildren, Grady and Landon Jones. He also leaves three step-grandchildren, Matthew Williams and wife Jessica, and Cory and Alyssa Varao. He leaves his brother Caleb and wife Martha, nephews David, Jeffrey and Ward, niece Vicki and their families.

Chuck was an avid outdoorsman and loved boating, fishing and hunting. A favorite spot was Sampson’s Island, which he and friends referred to as “Three Papa’s Island.”

Burial will be at The Bourne National Cemetery on May 14 at 11:15am.
