Charles “Rusty” Russell, Jr., of Middleboro, died on February 1, 2020 at the age of 73. Born and raised in Boston, he was the son of the late Barbara A. (Gately) and Charles E. Russell, Sr.

Rusty joined the Marines in 1964 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1967. He met Louise in 1974 and the two married in 1981. Rusty and Louise settled in Dorchester before moving to Abington to raise their family. He was a hardworking man who was dedicated to his family and his work. He enjoyed playing the banjo and remodeling around the house.

Rusty was the loving husband of Louise A. Russell. Father of Anita Wells and her husband Mark of Florida, Kelly Kaufman of South Carolina, Debra Huntress and her husband Paul of Halifax, Kim Russell of South Carolina, Marcia Trudell and her husband Rene of West Springfield, Kerri Luebke and her husband Bob of South Carolina, Kay Amico and her husband Joe of Halifax, Tessa Martin and her husband Brett of Attleboro, Charlene Wright and her husband Corey of Kentucky, and Kevin Russell and his wife Mary of Pembroke.  Loving Papa to 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Rusty is survived by his siblings Diane Ethier and her husband Andre, Nancy MacDonald and her husband Charlie, Glenn Russell and his wife Helen, Robert Russell, Stephen Russell and his wife Wanda, and Jean Brown. He is predeceased by his brothers Richard and Thomas Russell. Rusty is also survived by his dog Sarge and many other relatives.

Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, February 6th from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home the following day, Friday, February 7th at 10:00AM.
