Charlotte R. Petrie

Petrie, Charlotte R. (Brackett) of Mashpee, formerly of Somerville, died February 6, 2018. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph M. Petrie, to whom she was married to for 53 years.
Loving and wonderful mother of Mary Thomas, Elizabeth Ramsdell, Helen Ramsdell, Martin Petrie, Jr., William Petrie and Matthew Petrie; caring Mother-in-Law of Edmond Thomas, Mark Ramsdell, Kathleen Petrie, and Laura Wasowicz; proud grandmother of Edmond Thomas, Steven Ramsdell, Jr., Sarah Ramsdell, Lydia Ramsdell, Luke Ramsdell, Martin J. Petrie III, Erin Petrie, Shannon Petrie,  Heather Petrie, Jonathen Petrie, Andrew Petrie; and daughter of Mary Brackett and sister of Christine Wise , predeceased by both her father, Warren Brackett, Sr., and her brother, Warren Brackett, Jr.
Charlotte lovingly cared for her children at home then was employed at Harvard University Press.  In her retirement, she was an accomplished artisan who thoroughly enjoyed expanding her skills by creating various forms of art. She also took great pleasure in being with her family.
Visiting hours Sunday, February 11, 2018, 2 pm – 5 pm in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. at Route 151, MASHPEE.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, February 12 at Christ the King Church, 5 Jobs Fishing Rd., MASHPEE, followed by burial at Great Neck Woods Cemetery in Mashpee.
