Christe Kondochriste

Christe Kondochriste, 88, of Popponesset Beach, passed away peacefully in his dream home on January 5, 2017. Chris was the beloved husband of Claire Kondochriste for 32 years. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Nicholas and Theopiste (Pittaki ) Kondochriste, was predeceased by his brother, Jim, and is survived by his sister Mary (Vikki) Mandra and her husband, Richie, of Billerica. Christe grew up in the South End of Boston, served in the US Army, and retired from a career in distribution for supermarket chains . He was an avid gardener with a passion for growing orchids, a member of the National Orchid Society and has grown over 200 orchids at his home. Chris also enjoyed being outside and cooking, but mostly he was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who love him.

In addition to his loving wife and sister, Chris is survived by 4 children and 3 step children; Faith Ingalls of Hyannis, Nick Kondochriste of Kingston, Cathleen Lieneck of Oldsmar, Florida, Kim Perazzelli of Mashpee, Kathy Halstead of New Hampshire, Terry Chalker of Monument Beach, and Roberta Halstead of Mashpee. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his cat Murphy.

A funeral service will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee on Tuesday, January 10, at 4 p.m. Burial will be conducted at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA Cape Cod, 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.
