Christine Cerasulo “Nana” “Mom”, Born September 1, 1923 in Attleboro, Massachusetts passed away July 17, 2020.
Christine attended Dorchester High School and worked at the Baker Chocolate Company in Dorchester Lower Mills. She was always a woman with a strong work ethic and came from a family who passed along the same values. During the Great Depression, when Christine was a young child, the family moved from Attleboro to Roxbury so her father could find work. These were difficult times, and at times her parents would go without eating so the girls would be fed.
She was a woman with a big heart and an even bigger family. Christine was always a fierce woman who was never afraid to speak her mind. If you wanted her opinion, she wasn’t afraid to tell you, and her eyes would always show you. Her strength and determination were always something to admire as well as her keen eye for fashion.
Christine lived in the Quincy and Milton area for many years. After retiring from her position at an insurance agency, she and her husband John bought a home in Carver, where she used her interior decorating skills to create a beautiful, warm residence which received many compliments. They then moved to Asher’s Path Apartments in Mashpee, where she enjoyed meeting many new friends.
Christine spent her final days surrounded by family, which is how she spent her life. She enjoyed the best days when spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was blessed with many happy and healthy generations of family, and her eyes always lit up when a new addition was introduced.
She is survived by three children, David Bright of Onset MA, Kenneth Baker of York PA, and Christine Reina of Cape Cod MA, as well as her nephews Ron “Marty” Martin, William Martin, and Raymond Martin, all of Indiana. She is predeceased by her late husband John O. Toivola, her son Wallace Baker, her sister Estelle Martin, and her grandchildren Alexandria Mullen and Jackie Baker.
Her memory will be held fondly in the hearts of friends and family. She was a woman unlike any other, and her charisma, love, and warmth, are all things to be carried on through the people in her life. Her beauty will always be remembered.
A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee on Friday July 24, 2020 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be private.
