Claudia Garon

Claudia Garon

On June 5, 2019, Claudia Garon, 86, went to sleep and joined the love of her life and late
husband, Joseph, passing peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. As the Garon matriarch,
Claudia is survived by her four daughters: Cathy Ann Thompson (Robert), Susan Garon Smith
(Smitty), Lisa Garon (Pat) and Kerry Garon Burns (Joe); seven grandchildren and three great
grandsons. For those who knew Claudia, they knew she never stopped. She was a proud
Fordham alumna and tireless champion for the school. While she and Joe lived for over 35
years in Bronxville, NY she served various roles as a college recruiter, president of the Mother's
Auxiliary of Ursuline and St. Joseph's Church, a member of the Bronxville League of Service, a
member of the Women's Executive Board at St. Vincent's, and the unofficially appointed "social
chair" of the town.

Claudia will be remembered for her vibrant love of life, competitive spirit in bridge, tennis, and
lawn bowling (to name a few!) and her devotion to family. In retirement, Claudia lived on the
Jersey Shore, traveled the world with Joe, and sent postcards to her grandchildren wherever
she went. She and Joe moved to Cape Cod in 2013.

While the list of Claudia's accomplishments are long, there was none more dear to her heart
than her 64-year marriage to Joe, who she is joining after his passing only four months prior.

Services are private.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to her alma maters: St.
Jean Baptiste High School of New York or Fordham University.
