Dan was a wonderful friend with amazing strength, wisdom and a great sense of humor. He loved a good joke and a good drink. I will miss him, knowing that Dan wouldn’t like telling me to enjoy each day to the fullest.

Dan was a dear family friend for all of my life. I was so sad to hear of his passing. He was certainly the life of the party and the most generous host. I will treasure all the memories we made together from the holidays we shared with Dan, his sons and Barbara. Heaven has gained a lively soul with a heart of gold. May he rest in peace.

Mr Harnen was one of the great father’s in my life. I always had a great time with the whole family , and he and his wife Barbara treated me like one of their own. They somehow had this understanding that we were mixed up 20 year olds and they treated us with compassion and friendship. It really was amazing how they knew we were not really knowing what we were doing ,but it was always ok. I will never forget Mr and Mrs Harnen and the profound impact they had on my life. God Bless the Harnen family and I hope they take solace in the remembrance of a life well lived, and the memories shared with friends and family alike. Tom ( Rocky)

Dan was a very, very dear friend to both Arlene and I. We spent many hours and holidays with him laughing and sharing our stories. We miss everything about him, we considered him a intergral part of our family. Love you Dan. I know you are enjoying the single malt of your dreams with the angels.

I spent much time at Dan and Barbara’s house in Bloomingdale growing up, One of my favorite places to be. I first met Dan when I was about nine years old. It was Mr. Harnen back then, the fun Dad for sure. A rare individual. He had a way of telling stories that connected with people, he made you feel comfortable around him and he could make you laugh. He was interested what was going on in your life and willing to provide advice. His children, Mark and Danny would become my most cherished friends. Christmas was an anticipated and especially enjoyable time for all who attended their annual celebration. As always, Dan was the life of the party. Great memories made over the years. I was so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing, and my heart goes out to Mark and Jane, Dan and Peggy and all of the grandchildren. Dan will be dearly missed, but remembered with a smile by anyone who was fortunate enough to have him in their life.
