I met Dr. Tuck when I was an R CM PConstable in Port Saunders Nfld. He came to Port aux Choix due to discovery of red Indian graves discovered thereee; we had several items from the graves stored in the Police Detachment locker. He took the time to examine these things and spend a few hours while explaining the items to me. Very enthused about the discovery. I have never forgotten his enthusiasm. My grandson is now at Memorial studying archeology. God bless Prof. Tuck.

Sincere condolences to the Tuck family on the recent passing of their late father. I attended St. Andrew’s School in the 1970s with Jim and Mike and recall their Newfoundland dog visiting our front steps on Wicklow Street.

Jim Tuck was my 7 and 8th grade teacher at the Oak Bluffs school. He was a hugely positive influence in my life. He taught me to live a life true to my dreams. As a novice teacher he told us that one day he would be a world famous archaologist. Sure enough years later I was living in Middleborough Ma and saw notice of a talk by a world reknowned archaologist at nearby Bridgewater State College. I attended that talk and walked up to the podium at its conclusion and was greeted with open arms! I'm sure Jim treated everyone with such care. My condolences to his family and friends.

So very sorry to get this news. Jim was a great friend to my dad and I well remember tromping around up Island with them as a kid. The cromlech, digging bottles in old dumps and beach combing. My family's thoughts and best wishes are with Lynn and family.
