I first met Jack in the 3rd Grade at St. Patrick Elementary School in Glen Cove, NY. My job was to show him his locker. We both played basketball on the St Patrick team. He was a tremendous individual and I am so sorry to hear about his passing. God Bless him for all the great things he did in his life. Jim Kelly, Jack and I were great friends when we all lived in Locust Valley. Rest in Peace my friend.

It was hard to not notice Jack and it was impossible not to like him. From the minute we stepped on campus in 1965 to our last meeting at the 50-th reunion Jack brought smiles to everyone’s face. A kind and loving guy you were grateful to call “ friend”. Rest In Peace

I spent a good deal of time with Jack the Friday night and weekend before he passed away. We were attending our 50th College Reunion at Fairfield University. He was a great guy going all the way back to our first year at Fairfield in 1965. We talked about our lives since Fairfield and our careers. Jack was so proud about what he was able to accomplish with high school students since he had been able to retire in 2003. We talked about Falmouth and how my parents spent a couple of weeks every summer at the Mara Vista there in the 50s, 60s and 70s. I'm glad we had this time together being able to see each other once every 5 years at the last 3 Reunions. Jack was definitely the highlight of the Reunion. God rest his soul and God bless all his family for having had such a great man for all these years.

Jack was a very special man to all of us . We will be forever grateful for all he did to support Haley ,and James ,In their quest for the right fit in a college education . It meant everything to us that he sat with us for Haleys graduation from Falmouth high ,and will always remember how he beamed as she crossed the stage to recieve her diploma. But then that's who he was , he was there for all the kids he helped realize their college dream . He did the same for James, and they both adored him ! There will never be another Jack, and we know we were very blessed to know him, and want his family to know , he will be forever in the Barrett Family's hearts .....
