One of the finest men to come out of Dawchesta. He was a fantastic friend to many and truly humble. He accomplished so much in his life yet remained the down to earth man we knew in his youth and later years. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. God bless you, Jack, and all your family.

Gardening, golf, fishing, painting fences, growing tomato's, and great humore, John and I shared them all in more than twenty years of weekly correspondence from over the water. John was not only my cousin but a good friend too whom from an early stage in our frirndship I recognised was a decent man! even most recently when his health began to deteriorate he showed much concern for my wife Maire during her recent fight with cancer. I'll miss you john! So,May the road rise up to meet you.May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon you face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And untill we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Sean and Maire Carney

We came to know Jack Carney through his relationship to us as father-in-law to our daughter, Veronica. He graciously welcomed her and us into his home with open arms. He proudly showed us around his house and yard and we could immediately see his love for his wife, his family, his surroundings, nature, and life in general. He was gentle and kind, cheerful and encouraging, and above all strong and courageous. We are thankful to have known him and will miss him. Sue and Dick Ramsey
