Larry was so many things to so many people, a gentleman to all. To us he was an uncle first, then mentor, friend, Senior Officer, and golf partner. His gentle demeanor and infectious smile brought love and warmth into a room. The country owes him a debt of gratitude. He will be missed.

I love you, grandpa! I miss you terribly.

"Eddie" Brewer of Sanford wrote:

I will never forget all those years at Naval Hospital Orlando where I served as his secretary. It was a partnership I will cherish forever. He had a heart bigger than the building and the honor of having the street named after him was monumental. There are so many fond memories/photos and the reunions were great. Can't wait to see him again in heaven. "Eddie"
