Paula, Maren, Ginny - I am very sorry for your loss. I would never be able to fully articulate how much Nelson did for me other than to say he changed my life for the better just by knowing him. He will be missed by many.

What an amazing man, and an accomplished and inspiring life! I loved the sparkle in his eye when he would casually mention so many of his huge accomplishments. I think Nelson packed 10 lifetimes into one. But he was so humble and modest you’d have to draw it out. He touched so many lives, and will be dearly missed. It was a blessing to know this gentle giant of a human being. Our hearts are with you Paula and family.

I grew up with his sisters and wish I’d had the opportunity to spend time with him—or at least to discuss his experiences and see first hand his wonderful teaching. I picked up a copy of his book several years ago but never got to finish it. I must find it and read it. I’m sad for his family and friends for he was indeed a great, loving man who will be missed, I’m sure. Rest in piece, Nelson. Jean Bouchard Woodward, jmbwood@me.com. P.S. Please, if possible, inform me of the celebration of his life event.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul. Not sure who authored this but I am sure he would be pleased. I loved listening to his stories during my summer visits over the years. I do hope someday to hear more of the story behing Sage, and student coconspirator, ending up in the clink. Hopefully I can hear the full story at the Celebration of Life this summer. <3

I took several classes from Dr. Madore at Thomas College and always enjoyed them He was a great instructor and always very fair. I also knew him as a friend and spend some great times together with Nelson and his wife, Paula. May he rest in peace and may his family always remember the life he lead and the memories they will always have. Blessing to you all.
