I'm sure Virginia inspired anyone blessed to spend time with her. I first went to talk with her about her paintings, their vibrant colors and simple figures. But in later visits she told stories about her community, about people she'd known and loved... about old times that were sad and others that filled her with laughter and joy. I'll cherish my time with Virginia .

I am deeply saddened at the passing of my sister-in-law. We were friends always, but as the years passed, we really became true family. She loved my children as if they were her own. I will always be grateful to her for her that because it was real. We had many deep and soul searching conversations that took us to a level of understanding and mutual respect that will sustain my memories and quiet my soul. I will miss her always, but I am comforted in knowing that she is at rest. My prayers are with the family.
