Mr. Bauknecht was a great man as well as a great role model to so many people including myself. He had a positive impact on everyone he came across. I had the pleasure of having him as a karate teacher when I was young, and again as an adult. He was not only professional, informative and patient, but also the true definition of tough. Thank you Mr. Bauknecht your legacy will live on through your family and so many others. Gone but never forgotten.

Billy I will NEVER stop missing you.. I was a part of your and Mary Sues teenage years. You and I Never Agreed on politics... Mary Sue used to make us stop, furious that we were again decending into violence. But we agreed on one thing, how much I loved you, your family, I am bereft. You had continuously told me that you didn't want me following your casket up the hill.. Not to worry, I am coming this summer to spend time with Mary Sue. I love you.

Mrs. Bauknecht & Family, I had the great fortune of working for Bill at Green Pond during the summer months of the late 1970's. I had just finished my military service and returned from Vietnam. Bill and I became good friends during my employment at Green Pond... I believe we had a special connection. I remember many good times with Bill, Nate, and Juan, times I still cherish today. Please accept my sincerest condolences. God Bless, Pete

Penny West Inwood of Montgomery, Alabama wrote:

My family moved from Grand Island New York to Cape Cod is 1972. It was a pleasure to have known Bill Bauknecht. For he also helped me through the devastation of my Breast cancers that I was diagnosed with in 2004 just after my mother Toni had her stroke. My brother Dwain and I went to school with Vicki and Lori. There were many Karate functions that we had attended not as a participant, but as a spectator. To see everything that the members had to endure was just mind boggling. For I do believe in my heart that it was the training that he had formally mastered that enabled Bill to survive the Multiple Myeloma for so many years. He definitely was a fighter, for he will always be the master of all things great and small in my book. From my family to yours our many thoughts and prayers are being sent in this time of deep sorrow. Toni West sends her deepest heart felt thanks to Bill for helping her attain the final black belt Degree in the martial arts after her devastating stroke that she had in 2004. Once again if my mother had not been a participant of this great organization of martial arts she would not have survived. Mind over matter I say is the key.

Mary Sue, Carlos, Vicki and the rest of the family: I am so so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I haven't seen any of you guys in so long but always ask my grandma about you all and how Bill was doing. When she called I was so sad to hear the news. I remember visiting Falmouth, going on the boat and the many times I played golf with Bill and my grandpa. I volunteer at the airport in DC and was helping a woman who was suffering from the same cancer as Bill. She was about 8 years in and just started chemo again. I told her that she will continue to fight it because my friend Bill has kicked its butt for so long. She was so encouraged by that and I saw her same will to fight that I know Bill had. I wish I could be with you all and, Mary Sue, I wish I could give you a big hug! Rest in Peace, Bill, thank you for being such a great friend to my family and for all the good times I got to spend with you. Seth
