Constance V. Dewhurst

1916 ∼ 2020

Constance V. Dewhurst (Bayne) a life long East Bridgewater resident passed away peacefully at the Lifecare Center in West Bridgewater Massachusetts on Saturday June 8, 2020 at the age of 104.  Connie was born in East Bridgewater daughter of the late Alice H. (Pratt)  and Allan V. Bayne

Connie had developed a deep love of Vermont from years of travel to the Green Mountain State to hunt, fish and enjoy the beautiful landscapes with her first husband Charlie. Connie and Charlie were more than happy to take their grandchildren with them on many of these excursions and in doing so demonstrated a remarkable capacity for patience.

Wife  of the late  Charles Lester Bouldry and Ernest Warren Dewhurst. Mother of the late Carolyn Alice Savery who died on April 12, 2012.  Grandmother of Craig Savery of Easton and his wife Lauren and  Joanna Michaud of Scituate and her husband Bruce. Great Grandmother of Jacqueline Michaud  and Chase Michaud both of Scituate

After Charlie passed away she eventually got remarried to Ernest Dewhurst of East Bridgewater. They enjoyed taking their motorhome back and forth to Ocala Florida and visiting with friends and neighbors. After Ernie passed away Connie continued to be a most important part of the family and was always gracious and loving. She often regaled the family at Thanksgiving and Christmas with songs and poems that she remembered from her youth.

She was so much fun to spend time with because she was an endless source of great stories and homey sayings. Connie was kind to a fault and always generous and willing to listen. She was not only a truly wonderful grandmother but a deeply trusted friend. Words can not express how much she will be missed, but we recognize that she led a long and meaningful life and that our lives were made richer for having known her.

All Services for Connie will be private.
