David A. “Dave” Dzenawagis

Mashpee - David A. “Dave” Dzenawagis, 34, died on March 13, 2019 as the result of a tragic accident while snowboarding in Haines, AK.  Born 3/27/1984 in Hyannis.  Preceded in death by his father, Alan.  Survived by his mother,      Lynda Minarik of Mashpee, sister; Amanda Dzenawagis of Boston; grandmother, Edna Dzenawagis; aunts and uncles, Cynthia Kelley, Michael Welsch, Sue and Steve Fedele, John and Donna Dzenawagis; several cousins; and his dog, Mickey.

David was a graduate of Barnstable High School and attended the University of Alaska Southeast.  He was a ski patrol and gave his time to Haines Avalanche Center, Haines, AK.  He worked in ski resort areas of the Alaskan Takshanuk Mountains where he participated in search and rescue missions.  David loved to work with his hands.  He enjoyed many activities including snowboarding, hiking, fishing and painting.  He held certificates in both search and rescue, and welding. 

David was a kind and warm man and will be deeply missed.

Vising hours will be from 2-5 pm on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the John Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd., Marstons Mills, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Monday, April 1, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 S. Main St., Centerville, MA.  Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.
