David Evans Cox, a long time Bridgewater resident, passed away on June 7, 2019 – just two days before his 82nd birthday. David was born and raised in Wrentham Ma  a proud Bennett St. resident - to the late Ruth (McLaughlin) and Vernon E. Cox.

He then joined the Air Force in 1955 where he proudly served his country. He later graduated from Northeastern University and pursued his career in computer engineering.

In 1965, David married the love of his life – Margaret Brinson, “Honey” and they raised their three children together in Bridgewater. 

David was heavily involved in the Bridgewater community.He was a Bridgewater Lions Club member for over 40 years and took great pride in his work for them. He was a past President, and District Governor, and the Melvin Jones award recipient.  David was a member of the Scotland Church and he was also a member of the Recreational Committee in Bridgewater and a proud Eagle Scout. David had a passion for stamp collecting.

David was a very humble non-materialistic man who would do anything to help someone in need. David loved his family and spending time with them above all else.

David was the loving husband of Margaret  “Honey” Cox. Father of Missy Kane and her husband Larry of Florida; Ricky Cox and his wife Kerry of Bridgewater; and Dan Cox and his wife Krissy of Raynham. “Pa” of Robbie Cox, Jason Kane, Ryan Cox, Tayla Kane, Cassidy Cox, Nolan Kane, Ethan Kane, Adam Kane, and DJ Cox. Brother of Elizabeth  Merrill and her husband Dick of California. David is also survived by his special friend Janet Folkins; dog Harry and many other family and friends.
