David N. Farrimond

1945 ∼ 2017

David Nyle Farrimond, 71, of Pocasset, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017. He was born to John “Jack” Farrimond and Bernadine (Dozier) Farrimond in Taylorville, Illinois. He was a graduate of Taylorville High School, Class of 1963.

David was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served at the rank of Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp performing medical rescue operations as a helicopter gunman. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Sangamon State University, Springfield, Illinois. He was the General Manager of the Cranberry Marketing Committee for 25 years at the Wareham, Massachusetts headquarters. He also served as the Treasurer and active member of the Monument Beach Sportsman Club in which he leaves many friends.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Buzan) Farrimond, his daughter, Yvonne and her children John “Jack” and Leah Nickerson, and his daughter Christina (Mark) and her children Elizabeth, Caroline, Ted, Lucie, Lillie and Harry Ells all of Cape Cod.  He also leaves his brothers Donald (Faith) Farrimond of Illinois and Daniel (Julie) Farrimond of Indiana. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Monument Beach Sportsman Club, 199 MacArthur Blvd, Bourne Massachusetts on Saturday, March 25, 2017 1:00-4:00 p.m. A private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monument Beach Sportsman Club’s Alcot Toby Scholarship Fund.
